“None are allowed to be partakers of the eucharist, but such only as are true believers, and have been baptized.” 150-Christians fl ee to the valleys of Piedmont; hence the origin of the Waldenses-meaning the inhabitants of a valley. Here they maintained a pure Christianity up to Luther, a period of 1,373 years.
