Missionary Baptist Seminary of Bethel Baptist Institute of International Studies is committed to providing Christ-centered, Bible-based theological education that prepares men and women for ministry and discipleship. Through an online platform, we aim to:

Bachelor of Theology (B.Th.) Curriculum


PROGRAM 1: Foundational Studies

1. Old Testament Survey (3 credits)

An overview of the Old Testament’s historical, theological, and literary content, focusing on God’s covenantal work with Israel and its relevance today.

2. New Testament Survey (3 credits)

A study of the New Testament’s background, structure, and message, with special attention to the life of Christ and the early church.

3. Biblical Hermeneutics (3 credits)

Introduction to the principles and methods of biblical interpretation, emphasizing a literal, historical-grammatical approach to Scripture.

4. Baptist History and Distinctives (3 credits)

A comprehensive study of the origins, development, and key doctrines that define the Baptist faith, including biblical authority and the priesthood of believers.

5. English Composition and Research (3 credits)

Training in academic writing, research methodology, and effective communication for theological studies and ministry.

6. Christian Ethics (3 credits)

Exploration of moral principles derived from Scripture, addressing contemporary ethical issues faced by Christians today.

7. Church Financial Management and Accounting (3 credits)

Covers basic accounting practices, financial reporting, auditing procedures, and the responsible use of church resources.

3. Life and Teachings of Jesus (3 credits)

An in-depth examination of the earthly ministry of Jesus Christ as revealed in the Gospels.

4. Acts and the Early Church (3 credits)

Analysis of the Book of Acts, focusing on the spread of the Gospel, church growth, and the work of the Holy Spirit.

5. Pastoral Care and Counseling (3 credits)

Practical training in biblical counseling principles and providing spiritual guidance for individuals and families.

6. Church Administration (3 credits)

Study of effective church leadership, organization, and management in line with biblical principles.

7. Bible Psychology (3 credits)

Explores how biblical teachings shape human behavior, emotions, and thoughts.


PROGRAM 3: Advanced Biblical Studies

1. Systematic Theology III (3 credits)

Exploration of Ecclesiology and Eschatology, emphasizing the Baptist view of the local church and Christ’s return.

2. Homiletics I (3 credits)

Introduction to the art of sermon preparation and delivery, focusing on expository preaching.

3. Greek for Biblical Studies (3 credits)

Basic study of biblical Greek to enhance understanding of the New Testament’s original language.

4. Missions and Evangelism (3 credits)

Study of biblical missions, the Great Commission, and strategies for evangelism and church planting.

2. Apologetics (3 credits)

Defense of the Christian faith through scriptural evidence and responses to contemporary objections.

3. Biblical Counseling (3 credits)

Application of Scripture to personal and spiritual problems, equipping students for counseling.

4. Hebrew for Biblical Studies (3 credits)

Study of biblical Hebrew to understand the Old Testament in its original language.

5. Practical Ministry Internship (3 credits)

Supervised ministry experience in a local church or mission field, with hands-on training.

6. Theology of Worship (3 credits)

Study of biblical worship, including principles for planning and leading corporate worship.

7. Capstone Project (3 credits)
